Das Projekt "Humana" untersucht das Anthropozän, ein Zeitalter, in dem der Mensch zu einem der maßgeblichen Einflussfaktoren auf biologische, geologische und atmosphärische Prozesse der Erde geworden ist.

Insbesondere die Geologie, die sich über hunderttausende Jahre hinweg durch natürliche, physikalische und evolutionäre Prozesse entwickelt und so die Grundlage für Lebensräume von Pflanzen und Tieren geschaffen hat, wird erstmals in ihrer Geschichte grundlegend durch ein Lebewesen verändert, das selbst aus ihr hervorgegangen ist: den Menschen.

Durch den Abbau und die Ausbeutung von Ressourcen sowie durch die Entwicklung von Industrie, Infrastruktur und urbanen Räumen ist eine neue, vom Menschen geprägte Wirklichkeit entstanden, eine künstliche Welt.

Angetrieben wird diese Entwicklung von modernen Bedürfnissen, die durch Konsum geprägt sind, sich fortwährend ausweiten und durch technologischen Fortschritt weiter verstärken. So entsteht nicht nur diese zweite, künstliche Welt, sondern zugleich ein sich selbst stabilisierendes System, das unausweichlich auf eine fortschreitende Verschiebung von der natürlichen hin zur artifiziellen Realität hinausläuft, eine vom Menschen hervorgebrachte Welt: "Humana".

The project Humana examines the Anthropocene-an epoch in which human beings have become one of the dominant forces shaping biological, geological, and atmospheric processes on Earth.

Geology in particular, which over hundreds of thousands of years has developed through natural, physical, and evolutionary processes, providing the foundation for habitats for plants and animals, is now, for the first time in its history, fundamentally altered by a living being that itself emerged from it: the human.

Through the extraction and exploitation of resources, as well as the development of industry, infrastructure, and urban environments, a new, human-shaped reality has emerged—an artificial world.

This development is driven by modern needs, shaped by consumption, continuously expanding and further intensified by technological progress. As a result, not only does this second, artificial world come into being, but also a self-stabilizing system that inevitably leads to a progressive shift from the natural to the artificial reality, a world brought forth by human action: "Humana".
